New York (United Nations), September 12, 2023 (SPS) - The President of the Sahrawi Republic and Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, held talks on Monday with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. António Guterres. These talks come within the framework of the ongoing dialogue between the Sahrawi Party and the United Nations Secretariat.

Occupied El Aaiun, 10 September 2023 (SPS) - Members of the Association for Surveillance of Wealth and Environmental Protection in Western Sahara informed the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General  of the United Nations for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, during his visit to the occupied territories of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), about the various violations committed by the Moroccan occupation against the rights of the Sahrawi people, as well as the plundering of their natural resources.

Dakhla (Occupied Territories), 9 September 2023 (SPS) - The United Nations Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, met with representatives of human rights associations on Thursday, who provided him with an assessment of the increasing Moroccan repression against Sahrawi civilians in the occupied cities. They affirmed the need to uphold international legality and allow the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination, freedom, and independence.

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State on a visit to the Sahrawi party

Shahid al-Hafed, September 1, 2023 (SPS) - A delegation from the United States of America led by Mr. Joshua Harris, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in charge of the Department of State's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, will embark on a visit to the Sahrawi party as part of the efforts made to re-launch the peace process sponsored by the United Nations in Western Sahara.

The visit program includes holding political talks with the Sahrawi leadership and holding meetings with groups of women and youth, in addition to visiting some Sahrawi facilities.

Sahrawi human rights organization condemns increasing attempts to exterminate Sahrawi activists

Smara (Occupied Territories), 23 July 2023 (SPS) - The Freedom Sun organization for the protection of Sahrawi human rights defenders expressed its "grave concern" over the increase in Moroccan attacks on Sahrawi activists and human rights defenders in the occupied parts of Western Sahara, especially attempts to exterminate anyone who tries to expose violations by Moroccan authorities.

Moroccan occupation authorities mistreat Sahrawi civilian prisoners

Ait Melloul (Morocco), August 16, 2023 (SPS)- The Moroccan occupation authorities, in the local prison of Ait Melloul, abused Sahrawi civilian prisoners within the Gdim Izik group, according to what a Sahrawi human rights source told SPS.

The same source added that the prison administration transferred the Sahrawi civilian prisoners within the Gdeim Izik, Brahim Dadi Ismaili, Sid Ahmed Faraji Lamjaid and Mohamed Hnini Arruh, to cells that do not meet the necessary health conditions.

Moroccan authorities prevent Sahrawi Civilian Prisoner from his right to medication

Ait Melloul (Morocco), July 26, 2023 (SPS) - The Association for the Protection of Sahrawi Prisoners in Moroccan Prisons reported that the Sahrawi civilian prisoner within the “Gedim Izik group” Mohamed Ahnini Bani was prevented from his right to medicine and treatment.

The Association reported that the prisoner Mohamed Bani told his wife after she called him, that Moroccan authorities in the prison of Ait Melloul 2 deliberately prevented him from transporting to the hospital outside the prison for medical examinations due to squeamishness.
