Sahrawi people will continue struggle until full sovereignty of Sahrawi Republic is achieved

Boujdour (Refugee Camps), 9 September 2023 (SPS) - President of Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, affirmed on Thursday that the Sahrawi people will continue its struggle to snatch its freedom and establish its sovereignty over the entire territory of the Saharawi Republic.

"Nothing will break our people's loyalty to the oath of the martyrs. It will continue its just struggle through all legitimate means to establish its sovereignty over the entire territory of the Sahrawi Republic," Mr. Ghali emphasized in a speech delivered on the occasion of the closing of the National Conference on Education and Vocational Training.

In the same context, the President of the Republic condemned the barbaric practices of the Moroccan occupying forces against the Sahrawis in the presence of MINURSO (United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara) and during the visit of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, in the occupied Sahrawi territories.

Mr. Ghali also called on the Security Council to "take immediate action to put an end to these flagrant human rights violations and enable MINURSO to fulfill its mission entrusted to it under the UN-AU Settlement Plan (1991) for the decolonization of the last colony in Africa."

The President of the Republic also called for allowing the Sahrawi people to exercise its inalienable and imprescriptible right to self-determination and independence.

At the end of the conference, Mr. Ghali highlighted "the progress that the Sahrawi refugee camps have achieved in record time, particularly in the field of education."
