Venezuelan president reaffirms backing for Sahrawi people's struggle for self-determination

Caracas, 12 January 2025 (SPS) - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has reiterated his country's unwavering support for the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people for self-determination.

During an audience granted to the Prime Minister, Bouchraya Hamoudi Bayoune, Maduro reaffirmed Venezuela's unwavering position in favor of the Sahrawi cause.

The Venezuelan president noted “the close historical ties binding the Venezuelan and Sahrawi peoples particularly against colonialism.”

Adoption of Kampala Declaration to strengthen agri-food systems transformation for 2026-2035

Kampala (Uganda ), 12 January 2025 (SPS) - The works of the Extraordinary African Union Summit on the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program  (CAADP) post-Malabo, wrapped up on Saturday, in Kampala (Uganda), with the adoption of the Kampala Declaration on the strengthening of the overall reform of the agri-food systems for the period 2026-2035.

The Summit also adopted the action Plan of the detailed Program for the development of African agriculture and sustainable economic growth for the same period.

Security Council: unanimous adoption of “Algeria’s principles” on terrorism financing

New York (UN), 12 January 2025 (SPS) -The United Nations Security Council has reached a decisive milestone in the fight against terrorism financing by endorsing the adoption by its Counter-Terrorism Committee of a set of guiding principles, which will henceforth bear Algeria’s name: “The Algeria Guiding Principles.”

After one year of its mandate on the United Nations Security Council (2024-2025), Algeria is already leaving a significant imprint on the international counter-terrorism architecture.

Spanish delegation visits some Sahrawi facilities and institutions

Shaheed El-Hafed, January 11, 2025 (SPS) - Spanish delegation from the Asturias region conducted a visit to several regional facilities and central institutions to assess operations and receive detailed explanations about the key services provided to citizens.

The delegation, which is currently visiting the Sahrawi refugee camps, visited the wilaya of Smara and held a meeting with the governor of the wilaya, member of the National Secretariat, Azzah Bobih, who informed them about the main services offered by the regional authorities in various sectors.

Commencement of AU Extraordinary Summit on Agriculture in presence of President Brahim Ghali

Kampala (Uganda), January 11, 2025 (SPS) - The extraordinary African Union summit on agricultural development in the African continent commenced today, Saturday, in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.

The Summit aims to prepare and adopt an action plan for the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Program for the period between 2026 and 2035, along with the issuance of the "Kampala Declaration" as a reference document.

The Prime Minister was welcomed at Simon Bolivar International Airport by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ms. Grecia Colmenares, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, Yuri Pimentel.
