The letter was written in response to a congratulatory message from the Sahrawi National Council following Keorapetse's appointment as Speaker of Botswana’s 13th Parliament. Keorapetse expressed his gratitude for the support and highlighted the enduring relationship between the two nations.

"Indeed, our two Nations share amiable relations, and our country has always stood in solidarity and in support of the Sahrawi people in pursuit of their self-determination and independence," Keorapetse wrote.
