Swiss parliamentary delegation meets with representatives of Sahrawi civil society

Boujdour, January 21, 2025 (SPS) - The Swiss parliamentary delegation, which is on a tour of the Sahrawi refugee camps and Sahrawi state institutions, met with representatives of Sahrawi civil society.

During the meeting, attended by Fatima Balla, responsible for managing mass organizations and civil society within the Political Organization Secretariat, a comprehensive presentation was made about Sahrawi mass organizations, including women's, youth, and student organizations.

British government reiterates its supportive stance for finding fair solution that ensures Sahrawi people's right to self-determination

United Kingdom, January 21, 2025 (SPS) - The United Kingdom has renewed its position on the Western Sahara issue, confirming its continued support for the efforts led by the United Nations to reach a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution based on settlement, which guarantees the right to self-determination for the people of Western Sahara.

This came in response to a question posed by Conservative Party Member of Parliament Mr. Andrew Rosindell to the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs and Development.

Moroccan occupation expels three Spaniards from Occupied Dakhla

Dakhla Occupied, January 20, 2025 (SPS) - Moroccan occupation forces have once again expelled a journalist and two Spanish international observers from the occupied city of Dakhla.

This move is part of a broader effort to prevent journalists, human rights defenders, and international observers from entering the occupied territory of Western Sahara and exposing the human rights violations against Sahrawi civilians.

Delegation from Swiss Parliamentary Group for Solidarity with Sahrawi People on visit to  Sahrawi State institutions

Shaheed El Hafed, January 20, 2025 (SPS) - A delegation from the Swiss Parliamentary Group for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People has commenced a visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps and state institutions.

The delegation, which includes parliamentarians representing various political parties, will lead a visit to the Sahrawi legislative institution, where they will learn about the pioneering Sahrawi experience in managing the refugee camps and the achievements made in education, health, women's participation, and the promotion of democratic practices.

Prime Minister presents Government Program for 2025 before National Council during Autumn session

National Council, January 20, 2025 (SPS) - The National Council held a general session today, Monday, chaired by National Secretariat member and President of the National Council, Mr. Hama Salama, with the presence of members from both the legislative and executive bodies.

Arab journalists and activists disown stance of Arab Journalists Union

Shaheed Al-Hafed (Refugee Camps), 20 January 2025 (SPS) - Arab journalists and activists have disowned a recent statement issued by the Arab Journalists Union, which announced its support for what is called the "autonomy project" within the framework of Morocco's "alleged sovereignty" over Western Sahara. They consider this a blatant violation of all laws and international legitimacy that recognize the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination.

The Central Directorate of Political Affairs of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army reported in a military communiqué that advanced units of SPLA carried out concentrated bombardments targeting enemy trenches and their forward and rear bases in the Houza and Farsia sectors as follows:

SPLA targets Moroccan occupation army command in Mahbes sector

Bir Lahlu (Liberated Territories), January 17, 2025 (SPS) - Units of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) carried out a focused bombardment today, Friday, targeting a command center belonging to the Moroccan occupation army in the Mahbes sector, resulting in "heavy losses in lives and equipment," according to a military statement issued by the Central Directorate for Political Commissariat of the SPLA.

SPLA continues its attacks, targeting the strongholds of the Moroccan occupation forces along the Moroccan military defensive wall.

Sahrawi Republic takes part in First World Conference on Enforced Disappearances

Geneva (Switzerland), January 16, 2025 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Republic participated in the First World Conference on Enforced Disappearances held on Wednesday and Thursday in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Conference aims to strengthen global efforts to combat cases of enforced disappearance, with the participation of key stakeholders, including accredited UN member states and international organizations in Geneva.

 It focused on the necessity of international accountability for perpetrators of enforced disappearances.

SPLA Targets Moroccan occupation soldiers bases in Ashrak Tourta

Bir Lahlu (Liberated Territories), January 16, 2025 (SPS) - A military communiqué issued by the Central Directorate for Political Commissariat of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army (SPLA) indicated that advanced units of SPLA fighters carried out concentrated shelling targeting the bases of the Moroccan occupation soldiers in the Ashrak Tourta area, resulting in significant losses in lives and equipment among enemy ranks.  

The attacks by the SPLA continue to target positions and trenches of the Moroccan occupation soldiers along the enemy's defensive walls.
