Prime Minister chairs Council of Ministers Meeting

Shaheed El-Hafed, May 1, 2024 (SPS) - The Prime Minister, Mr. Bushraya Hamoudi Beyoun, chaired Wednesday a meeting of the Council of Ministers,  at the headquarters of the Prime Minister's office.

The meeting comes after the fourth session of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and the process of circulating its outcomes at the regional and local levels, as well as within the government apparatus.

Sahrawi people declare their support and solidarity with USMA

US State Department report: Bleak picture of human rights in Morocco, occupied Western Sahara

Washington, 27 April 2024 (SPS) - A US State Department human rights report paints a bleak picture of the human rights situation in Morocco and occupied Western Sahara, listing several violations recorded in 2023.

Particularly critical of the Moroccan authorities, the report highlights a series of human rights violations, including cases of torture in detention, reporting cases of torture in detention, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment of demonstrators for the independence of Western Sahara by the security forces.

National Secretariat demands that Spain assume its responsibilities towards Sahrawi people

Algiers, April 26, 2024 (SPS) - Algeria and Canada have expressed convergence of views on various regional and international issues, particularly the Sahrawi and Palestinian causes, reaffirming their support for international efforts in these issues.

A statement by the Algerian Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament) indicated that the Speaker of the Council, Salah Goudjil, received Thursday, in Algiers, the speaker of Canada's House of Commons, Greg Fergus, who is on a visit to Algeria, where they discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.

This exhibition is part of an awareness program about the Western Sahara issue organized by several Spanish provinces.

Violation of International Law in Western Sahara: Sahrawis in France call for protection of civilians

Paris, April 23, 2024 (SPS) - The Sahrawi community in France denounced on Tuesday "the assassinations, premeditated killings, and all violations of international law" by the Moroccan occupier. They called on the United Nations Security Council, the African Union, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to "protect Sahrawi civilians" and "demand the release of Sahrawi political prisoners from Moroccan prisons."

The delegation visited various national institutions and wilayas to assess the political and humanitarian situation of Sahrawi refugees, gaining insight into the work and progress of several institutions in the Sahrawi state.

NUSW Secretary-General takes part in Caracas in global meeting on social alternatives

Caracas, Venezuela, April 22, 2024 (SPS) - The Secretary-General of the National Union of Sahrawi Women (NUSW), Ms. Shaba Seiny, participated in the events of a global meeting on social alternatives organized by ALBA TCP, in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.

Approximately 60 countries from various continents and more than 300 participating delegations attended the global meeting, where participants discussed issues related to peoples and society.
