Bir-Lehlou, Sep 23, 2017 (SPS)-  President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, congratulated his Malian counterpart, Brahim Boubaker Kaita, on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Mali.
The President of the Republic expressed his sincere congratulations to the president of the Republic of Mali on this occasion, recalling the relations of friendship and solidarity existing between the two sisterly countries.

The Moroccan occupation authorities have allowed the police and security forces in the Occupied Zones of Western Sahara to use excessive force against Saharawi protesters.
The Royal Moroccan Government must end the violence against Saharawi civilians and when any members of the security forces are found to have violated people's human rights, they must be brought to justice.

Lesotho supports struggle for self-determination in Western Sahara

New York, Sep 23, 2017 (SPS) - Lesotho Prime Minister, Mr. Thomas Motsoahae Thabane, has reiterated his country's support for Western Sahara in its struggle for self-determination.
Speaking in the general debate of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, he said that every day that passes without a change in the life of the People of Western Sahara is a reminder to the world that we must renew our determination to fight against the injustices perpetrated against the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

Vice-President of Botswana reiterates support for Saharawi people struggle

New York, Sep 23, 2017 (SPS) - The Vice-President of Botswana, Mr. Mokgweetsi Eric Masisi, reiterated Thursday his country's support to the struggle of the Sahrawi people for their right to self-determination.
He regretted that Western Sahara is the only remaining decolonization issue in the African continent.
He stressed that it is necessary that the Saharawi people be allowed to exercise their right through a referendum under the supervision of the United Nations.

Cuba calls for guarantee of self-determination of Saharawi people

New York, September 22, 2017 (SPS) –Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, called Friday the UN to guarantee the right to self-determination of the Saharawi people.
During the General Debate of the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly, the Cuban Foreign Minister said that the question of Western Sahara requires an effort in accordance with United Nations resolutions, so as to guarantee the self-determination of the Saharawi people and respect for their legitimate right to live in peace in their territory.

Moroccan security forces suppress Saharawi protesters in occupied Boujdour

Boujdour (Occupied Zones), Sep 22, 2017 (SPS) - A peaceful demonstration organized by the Saharawis on Thursday in the occupied city of Boujdour to demand the decolonization of Western Sahara and the release of Saharawi political prisoners was violently suppressed by the Moroccan security forces.
Dozens of armored personnel carriers closed access to Legbaibat neighborhood in the occupied city of Boujdour, before beginning their crackdown on peaceful demonstrators, who responded by chanting national slogans and waving flags of the Sahrawi Republic.

Moroccan forces intervene violently against Saharawi demonstrators in occupied El-Aaiun

El-Aaiun (Occupied Terrritories), Sep 22, 2017 (SPS) - Moroccan forces carried out a violent attack on Sahrawi demonstrators in the occupied city of El-Aaiun on Thursday, to express solidarity with Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons and condemnation of the disperse of Gdeim Izik's prisoners.
The Moroccan forces imposed a siege on the neighborhoods that lead to Smara Street and houses of families of the prisoners, before carrying out their assault on the demonstrators.

Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories),Sept 21,2017 (SPS) - In a letter sent Wednesday to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the President of the Republic and Secretary-General of the Frente  POLISARIO, Brahim Gali, said that " the dispersion of Gdeim Izik's prisoners into Moroccan prisons is a new flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, "as well as trying to hide the true situation of prisoners and their status as political prisoners imprisoned for defending positions supported by the Charter and resolutions of United Nations.
 

A Saharawi delegation takes part at UNGA 72nd session

New York, Sept 21,2017 (SPS) - A Saharawi delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould-Salek, arrived in New York on the occasion of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
 
The Minister has held meetings with a large number of heads of delegation from countries participating in this session of the General Assembly, mainly in Africa, Europe and Latin America.
