Prime Minister receives German parliamentary delegation

Chahid El Hafed, January 20, 2016 (SPS) .- The Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, received Tuesday a parliamentary delegation from Germany which finished a working visit to the Saharawi refugee camps.

 

Abdelkader Taleb Omar asserted the importance of this visit by the German role in world policy to exert pressure on the Moroccan government to respect and comply with international law.

 

TASSC denounces the holding of Crans Montana in the occupied Dakhla

63 foreign visitors expel from Western Sahara last 2 days

El Aaiun (Occupied Western Sahara), January 19, 2016 (SPS) .- 63 foreign visitors expelled from Western Sahara and South Morocco last 2 days., reported the website of Norwegian Support Commitee for Western Sahara.

The expulsion of 63 foreigners happened in 20 different incidents. They were from Norway (56 people), Sweden, the Netherlands, Lithuania, US, Canada and Poland.

Adala asks EP to include human rights situation in Western Sahara among its priorities

London, January 19, 2016 (SPS) .- The British NGO Adala on Tuesday urged the European Parliament to include the situation of human rights in Western Sahara between the priorities of the report which EU will submitted to the Human rights Council of the United Nations and will be subject to vote tomorrow, Wednesday, January 20, 2016.

German parliamentary delegation on a working visit to Sahrawi refugee camps

Chahed el Hafed, (Saharawi refugee camps), January 19, 2016 (continued) - A delegation from the German parliament consist of Mrs. Tack Kerstia of the Social Democratic Party, and Mrs. Katja Kuel for the Green Party., on Saturday started a working visit to Sahrawi refugee camps, scheduled for three days

 

The visit aims to enable the delegation to review the situation of the Sahrawi refugee camps.

 
The delegation will visit the Sahrawi Wilayas and institutions and hold meetings with SADR authorities and senior officials. (SPS)  

 

Prime Minister oversees functions transfer to new Water and Environment Minister

Chahid El Hafed, January 18, 16 (SPS) .- The member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar on Monday oversaw the transfer of functions to the new Minister of Water and Environment, Mr. Brahim Mokhtar under the provisions of the decree issued by the Presidency of the Republic to form the new government.

 
it should be recalled that along with the Prime Minister officers and directors of the Ministry of Water and Environment took part in the ceremony. (SPS)

Pan AfricanYouth Union reaffirms commitment to decolonization of Western Sahara

Preparatory committee of 40th anniversary of SADR holds first meeting

The Chairperson of the Committee, Khatri Addouh, recalled the importance of this event and its role in the unification of the Sahrawi people under the name of SADR, adding that this step is an opportunity to discover the gains achieved during the last forty years."

 

Conflict in Western Sahara is decolonization issue

Brussels (Belgium), January 17, 2016 (SPS) - Members of the European Union (MEP) reaffirmed that the Western Sahara conflict is “a decolonization issue,” to settle in accordance with international law, which grants the Sahrawi people the right to self-determination, reiterating their call to provide the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) with a mandate to monitor Human Rights.

Belgian Committee of support to Sahrawi people calls to refuse “gagging” operated by Morocco

Brussels, January 17, 2016 (SPS) - President of the Belgian Committee of support to the Sahrawi people Pierre Galand called on Friday to refuse the “gagging” operated by Morocco, after the “cancellation,” in Liège, of the screening of a documentary on the resistance in Western Sahara.

 

The decision to cancel the screening was taken “following the several pressures exercised by Morocco,” said the communiqué of the committee.

 

EU to present a new version of agricultural agreement with Morocco

London, January 16, 2016 (SPS)- The European Union (EU) is considering a revision of the controversial agricultural agreement with Morocco by presenting a new version in accordance with the international law which emphasizes the need for consultation and agreement of the Saharawi people for all activities relating to the exploitation of its natural resources, reports the London newspaper Al Quds Al-Arabi.

 

Delegations on visit Sahrawi refugee camps

 Shaheed El Hafed, January 15, 2016 (SPS)– Some foreign delegations will begin as from Saturday working visits to the Saharawi refugee camps, said the Central Directorate of Protocol.

 

According to the source, delegations including American congressmen and German parliamentarians will visit the camps and hold meetings with Sahrawi personalities and officials of the Polisario Front.

 

EP recommends extension of MINURSO mandate to Human Rights in Western Sahara

BRUSSELS, January 14, 2016 (SPS) .-The European Parliament reiterated its call for the extension of the mandate of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) to monitor the compliance with human rights likewise the peacekeeping missions.

In a report released Wednesday, the European Parliament expressed surprise that MINURSO remains "the only UN mission in Africa that lacks a mandate to monitor respect of human rights," which "does not allow have a mechanism for reporting violations of human rights."

Prime Minister oversees the handover ceremony to the new Minister of Information

Chahid El Hafed, January 13, 2016 (SPS) .- Prime Minister Abdlkader Taleb Omar on Tuesday oversaw the handover ceremony for the new Minister of Information, Mr. Hamada Salma, and the new Secretary General of the Ministry Mr. Mohamed Salek Bulsan pursuant to a decree issued by the Presidency of the Republic, on the formation of the new government.

The ceremony was attended by directors of the branches of the ministry, it should be recalled.(SPS)

The President of Republic oversees the transfer of functions to the new defense minister

Chahid El Hafed, January 13, 2016 (SPS) .- The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front  and head of the Armed Forces, Mohamed Abdelaziz has overseen Wednesday the transfer of functions of the former defense minister, Mohamed Lamin Elbuhali, to the new minister, Abdlahi Lehbib, pursuant to Presidential Decree for the formation of new government.



The ceremony, held at the Ministry of Defence, was attended by the Staff of the General Command of Saharawi People’s Liberation Army. (SPS)

Morocco condemns a Saharawi journalist to 6 years in prison

El Aaiun(occupied territories of Western Sahara), January 13, 2016 (SPS) .- The Court of First Instance of the occupying regime in El Aaiun, the occupied capital of Western Sahara, sentenced Tuesday to six years of prison to journalists and Saharawi political prisoner, Mohamed Banbari.
