Algiers, January 18, 2016 (SPS) The President of the Pan African Youth Union (PYU), Francine Mymbuya, reiterated the position of her organization with regard to the question of Western Sahara, which is in line with position of the African Union, calling for the decolonization of the last colony in Africa.

In a conference at the headquarters of the Algerian newspaper Achaab, Ms. Mymbuya recalled that the most important African liberation movements were led by young leaders, whose ideas and actions have led to tangible results for the liberation of the continent from all types of colonialism.

"The liberation of Africa remains incomplete as long as Western Sahara is occupied by Morocco and as long as the resolutions of the UN and AU, calling for the holding of a free, fair and transparent referendum for the self-determination of the Saharawi people, have not been applied", she added.

The President of the PYUtook the opportunity to call young Africans to meet the challenge and engage in all political and economic sectors to ensure communication between the generations.

During her stay in Algeria, Ms. Mymbuya participated in several activities, including the international conference on the dialogue of the African youth and the challenges of peace and reconciliation, which was held from 16 to 17 January, in Algiers, in the presence of a delegation from the Saharawi Youth Union.
