Sweden,January 05, 2016 (SPS) –The Swedish Social Democratic Party supports the right of the Sahrawi people to live in a free democratic and independent state in letter sent to the fourteenth Congress of Polisario Front.

 

¨The Swedish Social Democratic Party supports the right of the Sahrawi people to live in a free democratic and independent state. We strongly condemn any occupation of Sahrawi territory. ¨ said the letter.

 

Swiss Support Committees launch petition to call for self-determination referendum in Western Sahara

Geneva, January 4, 2016 (SPS) - The Swiss Support Committees for the Saharawi have launched a Petition to the UN Security Council to require the immediate organization of a referendum on self-determination in Western Sahara.

 

The petition, from 1 January to 15 August 2016, called for worldwide support for this petition. The petition stressed that it’s time to find a solution to the conflict in Western Sahara,” adding that the Saharawi must at last be able to exercise their right to self-determination.

 

Issuing "unjust" sentence against Sahrawi political prisoners, surrounding family home of another

Smara (Occupied Territories), January 3, 2016 (SPS) – The Moroccan Court in the occupied city of Smara has issued "unjust" ruling against Sahrawi militant Abido Boutabaa of 8 months in prison under “false” charges, according to the Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Community Abroad.

 

The Sahrawi militant has always participated in the demonstrations organized in Smara occupied city demanding the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, the source indicated.

 

Transfer of Sahrawi political prisoner to hospital

Rabat (Morocco) January 3, 2016 (SPS) – The administration of Sale prison 1 transferred on Wednesday, Saharawi political prisoner Mohamed Embarek Lefkir, among Gdeim Izik group, the Ibn Sina University Hospital in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

 

The Sahrawi political prisoner had spent about 25 days in the same hospital where he underwent a surgery, but medical negligence and delays in the completion of remedial action by the prison clinic and staff resulted in serious complications at the level of his knee.

Spain has “historical debt” to Sahrawi people

AUC Chairperson congratulates SADR on 14th congress, reaffirms solidarity with Sahrawi people struggle

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), 1 January 2016 (SPS) - The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, congratulates the people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) under the leadership of the Polisario Front for the successful convening of the 14th Polisario Front Congress held in Dakhla, refugee camps.

 

In a letter Thursday, the African Union congratulates H.E. Mohamed Abdelaziz for his re-election as Secretary General of the Polisario Front, and President of SADR.
