The Democratic Party of East Timor supports Saharawi people's struggle for independence

Dili(East Timor), Sept 23, 2015 (SPS) -The President of the Democratic Party of East Timor, Mr. Do Nascimento Adriano, on Tuesday expressed ¨his party strong support to the struggle of the Saharawi people for freedom and independence, according to sources of the Saharawi Embassy in the Asian country.¨
 

Adriano Do Nascimento during his meeting with the envoy of the President of the Republic, Minister Delegate for Asia, Mr. Maulud Said, highlighted the historical relations between his party and the Polisario Front.

 

East Timor President receives Saharawi Republic envoy

Dili(East Timor), Sept23, 2015 (SPS) -The President of East Timor, Mr. Taur Matan Ruak, on Tuesday received in the capital of his country's the envoy of the  President of Sahrawi Republic  and Minister Delegate in charge of Asian Affairs , Mr. Maulud Said accompanied by Sahrawi ambassador in Dili Mr. Mohamed Aslama Badi, according to a statement released by the SADR embassy in Dili.

 

Russian anti-globalization movement denounces Moroccan repression in the occupied territories

Moscow(Russia), Sept 22, 2015 (SPS) - The Anti-globalization Movement of Russia condemned the brutal repression committed  by the Moroccan occupation forces against the Saharawi civilians in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, said its President Alexander Lonov, during a meeting with the Polisario Front’s Representative to Russia Dr. Ali Salem Mohamed Fadel.

 

 

Murcia and Cartagena Universities host Sahrawi cultural Days

Murcia(Spain), Sept 22, 2015 (SPS) - the Universities of Murcia and Cartagena hosted the fifth edition of the Sahrawi cultural days under the title "Sahrawi culture a message of peace in the service of the Sahrawi cause," from 13 to 15 October.

 

The university activities will coincide with the fortieth anniversary of the Day of National Unity, which the solidarity movement and the Polisario Front representation to Murcia annually celebrate together.

 

Sahrawi delegation takes part in the right of peoples to self-determination international conference

Moscow(Russia), Sept 22, 2015 (SPS) - Sahrawi delegation headed by Polisario Front representative in Russia, Dr. Ali Salem Mohamed Fadel participated in an international seminar under the title "peoples dialogue right and  people’s right to self-determination and building a multi-polar world," with the presence of more than 35 delegations from different continents of  the world.

 

Ujsario delegation attends African left-wing Forum

Tess (Senegal) Sept 22, 2015 (SPS) - A delegation from the Sahrawi Youth Union (UJSARIO) attended the establishment of the African Leftist Youth in Tess, Senegal.

 

The participants called to accelerate the holding of a referendum of self-determination for the Saharawi people in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations and the African Union related to, in recommendation.

 

They also demanded the release of Sahrawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails, and to stop the illegal exploitation of Sahrawi natural resources. (SPS)

Foreign Ministry calls on European governments to support Sahrawi people's right to self-determination

 Brussels, September 21, 2015 (SPS) The Department of External Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on European governments to support the inalienable right of the people of Western Sahara to self-determination and independence.

 

 At a meeting in Brussels under the chairmanship of Mohamed Sidati, Minister for Europe, the department has called on European governments to put pressure on Morocco to accelerate the implementation of UN resolutions calling for the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, the Western Sahara.

 

UN SG Personal Envoy received by Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs

Algiers, Sept 21, 2015 (SPS) – The personal envoy of United Nations Secretary General for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, was received Sunday in Algiers by Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ramtane Lamamra.

 

The audience took place at the headquarters of Algerian Foreign Affairs Ministry.

 

He was also received by Algerian Minister for Maghreb, African Union and Arab League Affairs Abdelkader Messahel. (SPS)

POLISARIO Front attends Annual Congress of Danish Social Democrat Party

Copenhagen (Denmark), Sept 21, 2015 – The Representative of the POLISARIO Front to Denmark, Mr. Abba Malainin attended the annual Congress of the Danish Social Democrat Party held from Saturday 19th, to Sunday 20th, September in the City of Aalborg in the Northern part of Denmark, at an official invitation by the Party.

 

The Congress opening Speech was made by the new leader of the Party, Mette Frederiksen.

 

UPES condemns restriction of freedom of expression and aggression against journalists in occupied Western Sahara

 Shaheed El Hafed, September 20, 2015 (SPS) The Union of Saharawi Journalists and Writers (UPES, in Spanish) has "strongly" condemned the terrible situation the Sahrawi journalists experience in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

 

In a communiqué published Sunday, UPES condemned the lack of freedom of expression in the occupied Saharawi territories and aggression against Saharawi journalists by the Moroccan authorities of occupation.

 

NUSW participates in annual meeting of African civil society actors

 The meeting is part of the consultations on the partnership between Africa and Europe and the participation of African civil society as an active player in important issues, including the identification of the objectives of the Partnership between Africa and the world.

 

South Africa participates in International Festival of Culture and Popular Arts in province of Boujdour

 Algiers, September 19, 2015 (SPS) - The South African Ambassador to Algeria Mr. Dennis T. Dlomo affirmed Saturday the participation of his country in the next edition of the International Festival of Culture and Popular Arts to be held on October 8, in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Saharawi refugee camps.

 

 Mr. Dlomo said after his reception at the SADR embassy in Algiers by the Minister of Culture, Khadija Hamdi, that South Africa will be represented in this event by a significant cultural delegation, including politicians and a musical group.

 

Solidarity Platform with Saharawi People calls for respect of international law for referendum in Western Sahara

ASVDH condemns Moroccan attacks against Sahrawi journalists

Saharawi Coordinator with MINURSO holds talks with Finnish officials and representatives of political parties

 Helsinki, 19 September 2015 (SPS) The Saharawi Coordinator with MINORSO, M'hamed Khaddad, held several meetings with officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of Finnish political parties, as part of a four-day visit in Finland.

 

 The Saharawi official met with the Finnish Deputy Foreign Minister, Raili Lahnalampi, former Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja and representatives of political parties, trade unions and youth organizations, as well as parliamentarians and Finnish media.
