Holding Crans Montana Forum in occupied Dakhla, affront to international community (minister)

Brussels, Jan 14, 2015 (SPS) - Minister Delegate for Europe, Mohamed Sidati, described as “an affront” to international law, international community and to the Sahrawi people the holding of the 2015 Crans Montana Forum in the occupied city of Dakhla, Western Sahara.


In a letter addressed to the President of Crans Montana Forum Jean Paul Carteron, a copy of which obtained by SPS, the minister asked the Forum’s administration to reconsider holding the event in Western Sahara whilst it is occupied and its people have their human rights violated.

Algeria, China reiterate support to Saharawi people’s right to self-determination

Algiers, Jan 14, 2014 (SPS) - Algeria and China on Monday reiterated their “constant stance” regarding the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, said the Algerian People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) in a statement, quoted by Algeria Press Service (APS).


The announcement made during a meeting between the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Community Abroad at the Algerian Lower House and the Chinese Ambassador in Algiers, Yang Guang Yu.

2014: right to self-determination of Saharawi people highly consolidated (02)

Moroccan judicial police summons Saharawi blogger

El Aaiun (occupied territories), January 13, 2015 (SPS) - Moroccan judicial police on Friday summoned to the so-called security station in the occupied city of El Aaiun the Sahrawi blogger, Ayache Deuihi, according to a human right source from the occupied territories.


The blogger was supposed to be summoned on the ground of his publications on topics related mainly to the question of Western Sahara and the human rights violations committed by Moroccan authorities against Sahrawi civilian.

Government answers questions of Parliament members

National Council, January 13, 2015 (SPS) - Government on Monday started to answer the questions asked by members of the National Council (Parliament) and to the concerns expressed in the committees’ reports.


In his speech, Prime Minister, Mr. Abdlekader Taleb Omar, hailed the reports made by the committees, adding that they reflect a good knowledge of Saharawi reality.


He underlined that MPs questions would help the government to find suitable solutions to the concerns expressed.

Venezuelan President on a state visit on Monday, Tuesday in Algeria

ALGIERS, January 11, 2015, (SPS) -President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, will be next Monday and Tuesday on a state visit to Algeria at the invitation of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, the Presidency of the Republic said Sunday in a statement.

 

"This visit will further consolidate the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries," the source added.

 

Algerian party urges UN to find just solution to Western Sahara question

Algiers, Jan 10, 2015, (SPS) – The Algerian party National Rally for Democracy (RND) called Friday at the conclusion of 3th ordinary session of its national council for a just and sustainable solution for the Sahrawi question.

 

In the final statement of its session the Algerian party urged the UN and the Security Council to find just solution for Western Sahara issue.

 

The statement reiterated the firm support of Algeria to the right of self-determination of Sahrawi people.

Saharawi political prisoner starts open hunger strike

Inzeghan prison (Morocco), January 11, 2015, (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisoner Brahim Daudi, started on January 08, 2015, an open hunger strike, protesting against ill-treatment received by the administration of the prison, reported a Saharawi human right source.

 


The same source confirmed that Brahim Daudi, witnesses health deterioration, due to ill-treatment that he received during the period of custody in the Moroccan jail.

 

Uesario organizes solidarity gathering with occupied territories

The gathering held at the conclusion of the vocational workshops organized by UESARIO in the presence of some members of National Secretariat and National Council, in addition to the masses of Boujdour.

 

Sahrawi women banned from their right to peaceful protest in occupied El Aaiun

Occupied El Aaiun, January 10,  2015 (sps) –The Moroccan authorities prevented Thursday in the occupied city of El Aaiun Sahrawi women who have master diplomas from their peaceful right to demonstration in front of the so-call the headquarters of the city, according to the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Community Abroad. 

 

The unemployed Sahrawi Women were subjected to “violent” physical and verbal assaults by the Moroccan police elements in plain and formal clothes, dded the same source.

 

President of Republic strongly condemns terrorist attack against French newspaper

Saharawi political prisoners initiate hunger strike in Salé prison

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), January 8, 2015 (SPS) - Four Saharawi political prisoners of Gdim Izik  group, in the local prison of Salé, Morocco, announced their decision to start a hunger strike as from Wednesday, to demand their legitimate rights and improve their conditions inside the prison, said a statement of the Committee of the political prisoners families.

National Council resumes its autumn session

 National Council, January 6, 2015 (SPS) – The National Council resumed Tuesday its first autumn session of the ninth legislative custody under the chairmanship of its president, Mr. Khatri Adouh, in the presence of Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar and members of the government.

 

During the session, the permanent committees of the National Council presented their reports on the sectors of their specializations, to evaluate the level of achievement in the light of the annual program of the government of the past year.

Polisario Front "deeply concerned" about current stalemate situation in Western Sahara decolonization process

Swedish MPs affirm support to Sahrawi people

Algiers, January 6, 2015 (SPS) - Swedish Parliament deputy Johan Buser affirmed Monday, in Algiers, his country’s support to the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination.

 

During a meeting with a delegation of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Buser revealed the existence of a Swedish parliamentary network that defends the Sahrawi people’s rights, announcing the upcoming visit of Swedish parliamentarians in Sahrawi refugee camps.
