Saharawi political prisoners initiate hunger strike in Salé prison

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), January 8, 2015 (SPS) - Four Saharawi political prisoners of Gdim Izik  group, in the local prison of Salé, Morocco, announced their decision to start a hunger strike as from Wednesday, to demand their legitimate rights and improve their conditions inside the prison, said a statement of the Committee of the political prisoners families.

 

 The concerned prisoners are Bashir Khada, Bekay Elarabi, Mohamed Khouna Babeitt and Abdel Jalil Laroussi. The four Saharawi political prisoners had exhausted all channels of dialogue with the prison administration that did not respond to their demands.

 

The families of the Saharawi political prisoners affirmed the determination of their sons to stage a hunger strike for 24 hours in protest against the rejection of their demands by the prison administration. (SPS)
