Zaayman, Counsellor (Political) of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of South Africa has called for the exercise of the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination and independence in accordance with the General Assembly Resolution 1514 (XV), in a statement to the United Nations for the Special Committee on Decolonisation.

Shaheed El-Hafed, Oct 7, 2017 (SPS) - A high-level delegation from the Canary Islands has started a visit to the Saharawi refugee camps to closely find out about the conditions experienced by the Sahrawi refugees.
The Canary delegation, whose visit lasts until October 10th, comprises 49 members representing various governmental and non-governmental organizations, including politicians, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society organizations and trade unions.
The delegation will meet with Saharawi officials and visit national institutions. (SPS)
