Germany accepts European Court of Justice ruling on illegality of trade agreements with Morocco

Berlin, 10 October 2024 (SPS) - Spokesperson of the German Federal Office for the Middle East and North Africa, Ms. Annika Clasen-Edris, announced that her country accepts the ruling of the European Court of Justice, which invalidates the trade agreements between the European Union and Morocco concerning resources exploited in occupied Sahrawi territories.

New York (UN), 10 October 2024 (SPS) - Algerian history researcher Dr Mohamed Doumir methodically dismantled the Makhzen's arguments on the alleged “Moroccanness” of the territory of Western Sahara before the UN General Assembly's Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization).

The researcher presented official historical documents proving that Western Sahara and the Kingdom of Morocco are two distinct territories.

Uganda Solidarity Movement with Western Sahara welcomes landmark ruling by European Court of Justice

Kampala, 10 October 2024 (SPS) - Uganda Solidarity Movement with Western Sahara has welcomed the landmark ruling by the European Court of Justice, declaring the EU-Morocco trade agreements null and void due to the non-consultation of the Sahrawi people.

In a press release, the movement considered that the decision acknowledges the fundamental right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and consent over agreements affecting their territory.

New York (United Nations), 8 October 2024 (SPS) - In his statement yesterday before the Special Political and Decolonisation Committee (Fourth Committee) of the United Nations General Assembly, Dr Sidi Mohamed Omar, Member of the National Secretariat, Representative of the Frente POLISARIO at the United Nations and Coordinator with MINURSO, stressed that the Sahrawi people, who have done everything possible to achieve a just and lasting peace, will continue their liberation struggle by all legitimate means to defend their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

 SPLA targets Moroccan occupation forces stationed in Amgala sector

 Bir Lehlu (Liberated Territories), 9 October 2024 (SPS) - On Wednesday, units of the Sahrawi army conducted shelling targeting the command headquarters of a Moroccan occupation army brigade in the Amgala sector, according to a military statement issued by the Central Directorate for Political Commissariat of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army.

The statement indicated that the Sahrawi liberation army "carried out concentrated shelling Wednesday targeting the command headquarters of an enemy brigade in the Okleib Al-Ach area within the Amgala sector."

United Nations: Petitioners defend Sahrawi people's right to self-determination

New York (UN), 9 October 2024 (SPS) - The general debate of the Fourth Committee of the UN, responsible for special political and decolonization issues, opened on Tuesday in New York. During this debate, a large number of petitioners from various regions of the world advocated for the legitimate right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and an end to Morocco's prolonged occupation of Western Sahara.

Algeria Minister of Foreign Affairs: CJEU’s decisions thwart desperate attempts to bury Sahrawi cause foundations
