New York, October 10 (SPS) - Delegation formed by representatives of various Spanish Institutions and Organizations participates in the debates of the Commission for Special Policy and Decolonization (IV Commission) of the UN  has defended  the right to self-determination of the Saharawi people and denounced the stagnation of the Peace Plan, as a consequence of the permanent obstruction of Morocco to its development.

Tokyo (Japan), October 6, 2018 (SPS) - The Moroccan delegation withdrew on Saturday from the preparatory ministerial meeting of the 7th TCAD Summit, in protest against the presence of the Saharawi Republic, a full member country and founder of the African Union, alongside the United Nations, the European Union, the World Bank and several continental and international organizations.
The Moroccan delegation had no choice but to withdraw immediately after the speech of the Japanese minister, because of the Saharawi Republic.

Tokyo, October 6, 2018 (SPS) - A delegation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, has taken part in the Ministerial Meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), in Tokyo, Japan, from 06 to 07 October 2018, in preparation of the 7th TICAD Summit of Heads of State and Governments (TICAD VII) that will be hosted in Yokohama, Japan, during August 2019.

Geneva, October 6, 2018 (SPS) - Sahrawi Coordinator with the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), M'Hamed Khaddad was received Friday by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, according to Sahrawi Representation in Geneva.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, addressed the good cooperation between the two parties and the difficult humanitarian situation of the Sahrawi refugees, especially amid insufficient donor contributions.

Ney York (United Nations), October 5, 2018 (SPS) - United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres announced that the two sides to the conflict in Western Sahara, the Polisario Front and Morocco, accepted to participate in direct negotiations in Geneva, while underlining the key role of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) in reaching a lasting political solution by organizing a referendum on self-determination.

New York (United States), October 5, 2018 (SPS) - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres asked the Security Council Wednesday to "extend for one year the mandate" of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), in support of the resumption of political negotiations early December in Geneva, Switzerland.
The UN chief calls the Security Council to extend the mandate of MINURSO to 31 October 2019, so that his envoy gets the required time and space to create the appropriate conditions for the political process to move forward.

Moscow, October 04, 2018 (SPS) -The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia renewed on Tuesday, in a statement after the meeting that brought together the Head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. M'Hamed Jaddad with the special representative of the president of Russia for the Middle East and the countries of Africa, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Mikhail Bogdanova its support for a political solution acceptable to the parties to the conflict and in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations.

Chahid El Hafed, October 3, 2018 (SPS) - The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Frente POLISARIO in reviwing the invitation issued by President Horst Köhler, Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations to the parties to the conflict in Western Sahara, the Frente POLISARIO and the Kingdom of Morocco and the two observer countries, Mauritania and Algeria, to attend the Geneva meeting in early December 2018, expressed the readiness of the Saharawi side to attend this meeting.

The meeting held at the seat of the ruling party served to express the will to promote cooperation and collaboration in different areas.

Brussels, October 03, 2018 (SPS) -Vice Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET), Anders Primdahl Vistisen highlighted the non-recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara under the debate on the EU-Morocco draft agreement aiming at broadening tariff preferences to products from Western Sahara.
 “This agreement does not imply recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara,” affirmed Danish EU MP Vistisen in his draft opinion submitted to the Committee on International Trade of the European Parliament.
