Closing of 2012 Youth and students’ summer programme

Awserd (refugee camps), August 24, 2012 (SPS) - The 2012 annual summer programme of youth and students wrapped out Thursday in all the wilayas and February 27th School amid a joyful competitive atmosphere.


Marking the occasion, the Wilaya of Awserd organized Thursday several sport and intellectual activities, as well as presenting awards and certificates of appreciation, in addition to an evening concert, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sport Mr. Mohamed Mouloud Mohamed Fadel and local authorities of Awserd.

"Sons of the Clouds, The Last Colony" participates in the International Film Festival of Toronto

Madrid, Aug 23, 2012 (SPS). - The documentary 'Sons of the Clouds, The Last Colony', will participate next September 13 at the 37th edition of the International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.

 

The film produced by Spanish actor Javier Bardem and directed by Alvaro Longoria describes the roots of the Western Sahara conflict to the current situation.

 

The idea came from the participation in the International Film Festival in Western Sahara, Fisahara held in the Wilaya of Dakhla in 2008.

Algiers, Aug 23, 2012 (SPS) - The Polisario Front representative to the United Nations, Ahmed Bukhari said on Wednesday that the visit by the President of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights (RFK Center), Kerry Kennedy, to the Saharawi refugee camps and Western Sahara under Moroccan occupation, is an other  testimony to the situation of the violation of human rights by Morocco.

Shaheed Al hafed (refugee camps), August 18, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi people, like the rest of Islamic peoples and countries, will celebrate tomorrow, Sunday 18 August 2012 corresponding to the first Shawal 1433 H, blessed Eid al-Fitr, quoted a statement by the Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs issued Saturday.


The prayer of Eid al-Fitr will be performed in all mosques of the Wilayas in refugee camps and liberated territories of Western Sahara, according to the source.

New violations of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara

El Aaiún (Occupied Territories) - Moroccan police agents arrested Monday the Saharawi citizen Ismaili Ahmed, 17, in El Aaiun, the capital of occupied Western Sahara, said today, Tuesday, the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA).

 

According to CODESA, Ismaili was forced by the Moroccan officials to ride a police vehicle without charging him or inform him of the reason for the arrest.
