Venezuelan Ambassador to Algeria reaffirms his country’ support to Saharawi people's right to self-determination

Algiers, March 22, 2012 (SPS) - The Ambassador of Venezuela in Algeria, Hector Michel Mujican, reaffirmed on Thursday his country's firm support to the Sahrawi people's struggle for their right to self-determination, during a meeting with Ambassador Brahim Ghali held at SADR embassy in Algiers.


The Venezuelan diplomat expressed his desire to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Sahrawi Ambassador received by opposition leader in Ghanaian parliament

Accra, March 22, 2012 (SPS) - The Saharawi Ambassador to Ghana, Mahayub Sidina, was received Thursday by the opposition leader in Parliament of Ghana , Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, according to a press release of SADS embassy to Accra.


The ambassador took the opportunity to inform his host of the latest developments on the the Sahrawi people's struggle for their legitimate rights to self-determination and independence.

Moroccan authorities of occupation assault Sahrawi student in occupied city of El Aaiun

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), March 22, 2011(SPS) –Moroccan police assaulted on Sunday the Saharawi student, Mohamed Mousawi (21 years) in the occupied city of El Aaiun, according to a source of the Ministry of the Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.


“The blatant attack against the Saharawi student took place Sunday night where Moroccan police agents in uniforms assaulted the Saharawi young before his house in neighborhood of Alquds ”, the source said .

National council committee for External Affairs, Information and Prtocol discusses 2012 Government programme

June 9th School (refugee camps), March 21, 2012 (SPS) - Committee on External Affairs, Information and Protocol of the National Council (Parliament) ended today  discussions on 2012 Government programme in the presence of Prime Minister and members of government .


The session focused  on the need to revitalize and activate the role of the missions and embassies of the Saharawi Republic in order to achieve greater support to the Saharawi struggle as well as taking advantage of the current changes affecting the region of the Maghreb.

Frente Polisario reaffirms continuation to cooperate with UN efforts despite Rabat intransigence

Shaheed Al Hafed (refugee camps), March 19, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente Polisario, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, reaffirmed continuation of the POLISARIO to cooperate with efforts of the United Nations to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and independence, highlighting the positive reply of the POISARIO to UN Secretary General demand to continue negotiations under supervision of his Personal Envoy, although no progress has been achieved due to Rabat intransigence and obstruction.

El Aaiun (occupied territories), March 19, 2012 (SPS) - A number of Saharawi citizens staged Sunday in streets of the occupied city of El Aaiun to demand right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, informed a source of the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.

The demonstrators chanted a political slogans calling for the independence of Western Sahara, and expressing solidarity with the Saharawi political detainees in the prisons of Morocco.

Municipality of Bilbao approves solidarity motion with the Saharawi political prisoners

Basque (Spain), March 17, 2012 (SPS) - The Basque Municipality of Bilbao approved Friday a range of motions of solidarity with the Saharawi cause and political prisoners, in the context of widening of the solidarity movement with the Saharawi people along Spain.

The Municipality denounced the systematic abuses to human rights and fundamental rights of the Saharawi civilians in the occupied Western Sahara, calling for releasing all the Saharawi political detainees as to unveil fate of the disappeared.

Peaceful demonstration in Boujdur city against Moroccan occupation

Boujdur(occupied territories) March15,2012(SPS) the Saharawi citizens in the occupied city of Boujdur , Tuesday  organized a peaceful demonstration  to denounce Moroccan violations of human rights and to solidarity with the  Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails, according to the  Saharawi Ministry of  the occupied territories and communities.
  

The demonstrators raised Saharawi flags and slogans demanding the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination and independence and the release of all Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons.

Polisario-Morocco: Informal meeting ends without significant progress, next rounds in June and July

MANHASSET (NEW YORK)- March 14,2012(SPS)  The ninth round of informal talks between the Polisario Front and Morocco wrapped up Tuesday evening in Manhasset, New York, without any significant progress in the negotiations between the two parties, to meet in June and July for other new informal rounds.

The UN Secretary General’s personal envoy, Christopher Ross said Tuesday evening in a communiqué that the informal meeting between the two parties took place in “an atmosphere of serious engagement, frankness, and mutual respect.”
