Madrid, Feb  13, 2019 (SPS) - The delegate of the Frente POLISARIO in Spain, Jira Bulahi, regretted that the "European Union becomes an accomplice to the theft that the Moroccan occupier continue to perpetrate on the Saharawi people.
In an official statement, the Sahrawi official rejects the attitude of the European institutions noting "the agreement approved by the European Parliament goes against international law and contradicts the ruling of the European Court of Justice, which states that the territorial waters of Western Sahara, a Non-Self-governing Territory awaiting decolonization ".
"The MEPs who voted in favor of the agreement are responsible for the continued plundering of the natural resources of Western Sahara and become collaborators of the oppression and persecution that the Moroccan regime exercises against the Saharawi people, who suffer daily the violation of human rights, "laments the Saharawi delegate.
Warning about the negative consequences of this illegal fishing agreement and the inclusion of the occupied areas of Western Sahara, Bulahi reminded that "the efforts of the UN and the African Union are hindered in the search for a definitive solution based on self-determination of the Saharawi people ".
Bulahi exhorts the King of Spain, Philip VI, to put on the table the theme of Western Sahara during his visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. "Among the ministers accompanying Felipe Vi is the Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, whose department deported a Saharawi student last January to Morocco who sought political asylum in Lanzarote, fleeing the Moroccan police after being persecuted by his political activism "adds the representative of Frente POLISARIO.
To conclude, Jira Bulahi reaffirms that " POLISARIO will continue fighting with all the means at its disposal against the new aggression of the Saharawi people that the new fishing agreement supposes, knowing that it is assisted by international legality, which unfortunately they have not respected the MEPs who have voted for Morocco to continue oppressing the Saharawi people.
