Dili, (Timor-Leste), 8 March 2022 (SPS) - The Commission of the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste for accompanying the Saharawi People to exercise freely their right to self-determination and independence was officially kicked off Tuesday in Timor-Leste’s Parliament.
The Solidarity Commission with the Saharawi people is composed of all the political parties represented in Timor-Leste parliament.

The members of the Commission representing different political parties in their speeches reaffirmed their strong solidarity and commitment with the Saharawi just struggle and will accompany the Saharawi people to realize their right to Self-determination and independence also confirmed that the objectives of the Solidarity Commission also include defending the Saharawi just cause Nationally and internationally in different fora.

The Saharawi Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Mr. Abba Malainin was invited to the inauguration meeting where he expressed his thanks and gratitude to all the honorable members of the Parliament and members of the Solidarity Commission for the creation of the commission to accompany the Saharawi people to achieve their right to Self-determination and full independence.
