President Brahim Ghali commends South Africa's firm stance towards the just cause of the Sahrawi people

Pretoria (South Africa), October 18, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front , Mr. Brahim Ghali, praised South Africa's firm stance towards the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
President Brahim Ghali, highlighted, during a press conference held equally with his South African counterpart, that the honorable position of South Africa towards the Sahrawi issue is not strange to people who struggled against colonialism and racial discrimination.
Ghali said, "We and South Africa shared the same suffering and struggled against colonialism”, adding “we will continue the road until the completion of national sovereignty over the entire territory of the Sahrawi Republic”.
On the latest developments of the Saharawi issue, President Brahim Ghali explained to the international media, that the Sahrawi people were forced to return to war on November 13, 2020, after Morocco violated the cease-fire agreement signed in 1991, and attempted to attack civilians and annex territory by force.
The Sahrawi people, said President Brahim Ghali, found themselves are compelled to defend themselves by all means, reiterating the Sahrawi people's readiness to continue their struggle until independence.
He called on the United Nations and the African Union to assume their responsibilities towards the Sahrawi cause, calling on them to work to end the suffering of the Sahrawi people as soon as possible.
