Shahid El Hafed (refugee camps), July 24, 2016 (SPS) The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front has welcomed the commitment of the African Union (AU) during the Kigali Summit to the principles and values that reject colonialism in all its forms, according to a statement reached SPS.
During a meeting Saturday chaired by the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, the  office of the National Secretariat welcomed the commitment of the African Union to the values and principles of the Constitutive Act of the African Union and its rejection to the attempts by Morocco not only to undermine the prestige of the Saharawi State, but also threaten the continental organization, its charter and principles based on decolonization, respecting the freedom of peoples and borders inherited from the colonial era.
It also noted the consistency of AU position for the need of the completion of the decolonization of the last colony in Africa, without further delay, by means of a referendum of self-determination, in order to allow the Sahrawi people the exercise of its inalienable right to freedom and independence.
The Office of the National Secretariat has, on the other hand, called the United Nations to protect defenceless Sahrawi civilians in the occupied territories of Western Sahara against the Moroccan repression perpetrated against them for their rejection of the occupation of Western Sahara and their call for the self-determination of the Sahrawi people.
