Anvers (Belgium), May 15, 2016 (SPS) - The Sahrawi community in Belgium celebrated, Saturday, the 43rd anniversary of the creation of the Front Polisario (10 May 1973), and the triggering of the armed fight for the liberation of Western Sahara, ten days later.
Enumerating the many achievements made in various fields since the creation of the Polisario Front, its representative in Belgium, Jamal Zakari, reaffirmed the Sahrawi people’s determination to continue their fight until independence.
“We are proud of the achievements made, proud to have created the Sahrawi state, which is recognized today by more than 80 countries in the world, and established its institutions,” he said in a ceremony organized at the Geel Cultural Centre in the province of Anvers.
According to Zakari, the Sahrawi only want to enjoy their right to self-determination, adding that the deadline of the Sahrawi people’s independence “is unavoidable, because the Sahrawis are more than ever determined and united.”
Nothing can deter the Sahrawi people to fight for their rights, he said, reiterating his belief of an upcoming victory to return to the land of his ancestors. (SPS)
