Shahid Al-Hafed, August 31, 2022 (SPS) - The World March of Women organized a virtual seminar in solidarity with the just Sahrawi cause, with the participation of the Secretary-General of the National Union of Sahrawi Women, Mrs. Chabba Saini.
The seminar, chaired by the President of the World March of Women, Mrs. Yildiz Temür türkman, was attended by members of the WMW from Brazil, Turkey, Algeria, South Africa, Tunisia and the Saharawi Republic, during which the participants highlighted their unconditional solidarity with the Saharawi cause in general and the Saharawi women in particular.
During the seminar, the participants discussed the appropriate approach that enables them to sensitize the suffering of Sahrawi women in the occupied zones and in refugee camps at the level of international organizations, and that approach will be adopted in National Sahrawi Women’s day on February 18th, 2023, which was designated by the World March of Women as a day of solidarity with Sahrawi women.
The Secretary-General of the National Union of Sahrawi Women presented a comprehensive summary on the hard situation of Sahrawi women as a result of the Moroccan illegal occupation, stressing the need of the World March of Women to facilitate the participation of Sahrawi women in all international Women’s forums and activities.
The seminar came out with a decision to establish a small group consisting of three members of the WMW to work on preparing a short video documenting the daily life of Sahrawi women, and documents and articles about the bitter situation of the Sahrawi women under the ongoing Moroccan occupation and its horrifying violations of their rights in the occupied zones.
