Conference on Moroccan occupation Violations of economic, cultural and social rights of the Saharawi people at UN Human Rights Council

Geneva (Switzerland), 26 June 2019 (SPS) - The headquarters of the UN Human Rights Council hosted a conference on Western Sahara, organized by the Geneva Group in support of Western Sahara, under the theme: the Moroccan violations of economic, social and cultural rights in Western Sahara.
The conference discussed the Moroccan occupation regime human right violation  in the occupied parts of the territory of the Sahrawi Republic as well as the negative role of some European countries that directly contribute to prolonging the suffering of the Saharawi people by obstructing the UN efforts to end the conflict in Western Sahara in accordance with international law and relevant Security Council resolutions.
It also condemned Morocco's policy of obstructing and thwarting all the solutions and proposals made by the United Nations and its special envoys to Western Sahara, the latest of which was the former German President Horst Köhler, who recently announced his resignation because of Morocco's intransigence and the French negative role on the UN Security Council.
The seminar was attended by the Saharwi delegate Minister to Europe, Mr. Mohamed Sidati an the representatives of the Frente POLISARIO in Switzerland and the UN Human Rights Council, as well as delegates and ambassadors of countries of weight bearing in Europe, Africa and Latin America and representatives of international human rights bodies and organizations participating in the 41st Ordinary Session of the UN Human Rights Council.
