Paris, February 01, 2022 (SPS) – The Sahrawi Youth Union “UJSARIO” represented by a member of the Foreign Relations Department, Shaya Birok, took part at the 43th Youth Conference of the French Communist Party held in Paris on 28-29-30 January 2022, along with many of the European delegations.
In a speech she gave during her participation, Shaya Birok, stressed on the positive and strong effect of the international solidarity with the struggle of the just cause of the Sahrawi people for freedom and independence, reiterating the Saharawi youth's affirmation of the importance of the bilateral relationship that links it with its French counterpart.
The member of the Foreign Relations Department of “UJSARIO”, Shayaa Birok, stressed that the Moroccan violation of the ceasefire on November 13, 2020, put the entire region in front of a dangerous bend due to his expansion policy in Western Sahara, adding that the option of the resumption of the armed struggle was imposed on the Sahrawi people and their only legitimate representative, the Polisario Front, for self-defense and to impose of the international legitimacy and the Sahrawi’s right to freedom and independence.
She also, expressed her concern about the serious support which Moroccan occupation receives from some members of the UN Security Council, led by France, to maintain the Moroccan occupation in Western Sahara.
Shaya Birok, highlighted the human rights situation in Western Sahara, where the Sahrawi people are subjected to various types of torture, abuse, siege, and prevention of peaceful demonstration, as what happens with the family of the brave human rights defender Sultana Kheya, since the resumption of the war against the Moroccan occupation.
It should be noted that the member of the Foreign Relations Department of the Sahrawi Youth Union, Shaya Birok, held several important meetings on the sidelines of the activities of the French Communist Youth Congress with different delegations, during which she called for to stand up against the European conspiracy that aspires to violate the recent ruling of the European Court of Justice in order to continue looting the natural resources of the Sahrawi people, which is one of the most important factors in prolonging the conflict and the continuation of the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara
