Budapest, May 22, 2011 (SPS) - The Task Force of the European Coordination for Solidarity with the People of Western Sahara (EUCOCO), affirmed that any solution to the conflict of Western Sahara “should passes through respect to the right of the Saharawis to self-determination.”

In a statement concluded a meeting held Friday in Budapest, Task Force insisted on finding a solution to Western Sahara conflict under aegis of the UN Security Council and UN Human Rights Council and respect the international law and human rights.

It also urged Morocco, Spain and France to fulfill their historic obligations by allowing the decolonization process in Western Sahara to be driven completely, denouncing the illegal fishing agreement between Morocco and the European Union, which has just been renewed for one year.

The Task Force expressed its commitment to campaign for the Saharawi people and for the immediate release of all the Saharawi political prisoners in the Moroccan jails, appealing to open the occupied part of Western Sahara for the international observers and human rights defenders.

It set up program of the 36th Conference of the European coordination for Solidarity with the People of Western Sahara to be held next November in Sevilla (Spain). (SPS)
