Shaheed Al Hafed (refugee camps) June 16, 2011 (SPS) - The Saharawi Jurists Union called on the Moroccan authorities of occupation to immediately and unconditionally release all Saharawi political prisoners in Moroccan jails, expressing deep concern on their serious health.
"Saharawi Jurists Union demands the Moroccan regime to immediately and unconditionally release all Saharawis political prisoners, cancel arbitrary sentences, unveil the fate of the Saharawi missing as well as opening the occupied territories of Western Sahara in front of international observers, media and parliamentarians", according to statement reached Wednesday SPS.
The Union expressed deep concern on the serious health of Saharawi hunger strikers in Tizinit prison (Morocco) for nine days.
" The situation of two political prisoners, Bachri Ben Taleb and Sheikh Amaidan deported from the the capital of Western Sahara occupied, El Aaiun, to Ait Melloul (Morocco) where they have been in hunger strike for 23 days which resulted in health problems ", added the statement.
The Union strongly denounced the policy of negligence and obstinacy, holding Moroccan authority fully responsible for any danger to lives of Saharawi hunger strikers in Moroccan jails
It deplored the campaign of Harassment and forced deportation made by the Moroccan department of jails in coordination with the intelligences against the Saharawi journalist, Mostfa Abd Daym, and political prisoner, Mahmud Abu Lgasem in Sale prison, Morocco .
Finally, the Saharawi Jurists Union appealed to the international organizations of human rights for the immediate intervention to save lives of hunger strikers and their colleagues, reaffirming solidarity with all the Saharawi human rights activists and political detainees. (SPS)
