President Mohamed Abdelaziz praises sacrifices of Saharawi political prisoners

Bir Lehlu (liberated territories) Nov 06, 2011 (SPS) -The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, has praised on Saturday the sacrifices of the Saharawi political prisoners incarcerated in Moroccan jails, reaffirming the Saharawi people’s determination to continue struggling to achieve freedom and independence .

 

In congratulatory letter to the Saharawi political prisoners on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, The President of the Republic emphasized that the Saharawi people will stay loyal to their legitimate rights.

 

The President highlighted the deplorable conditions of Saharawi political prisoners, renewing the strong condemnation to the policy of repression and siege imposed by the Moroccan authorities of occupation against the defenseless Saharawis.

 

He expressed solidarity with Saharawi prisoners in Salé (Morocco) who began an unlimited hunger strike to protest against their conditions, demand their release or a fair trial and respect for their rights in this prison.

 

according to a source from Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad, Total of 79 Saharawi political detainees are currently incarcerating in the Moroccan prisons in cruel conditions.

 

The prisoners are imprisoned in 6 jails inside Morocco and 2 in the occupied territories of Western Sahara,  23 of them arrested during the Moroccan attack on Gdeim Izik camp, are subjecting to military trails in Sale (near Rabat).

 

The source recalled that 25 Saharawi activists have recently arrested in the occupied city of Dakhla following the barbaric attacks perpetrated by Moroccan settlers aided and abated by the security forces.

 

 About 560 Saharawis missing since the invasion of the Moroccan military forces, the source indicated.(SPS)
