2nd day of the Polisario Thirteenth Congress: presentation and debate of moral and financial report of the National Secretariat

Tifariti (liberated territories), Dec 16, 2011 (SPS) - The second day of the Polisario Front’s 13th Congress marked by the presentation of a financial report by Member of the Polisario National Secretariat, Mr. Mohamed Lamin Ahmed, where he revealed sources of aid and the expenses the past four years.


Mr. Mohamed Lamin Ahmed said that the budget has been directed specifically to the areas of defence as well as develop and strengthen it, construction of the liberated territories, diplomacy, culture, education, health and commemorating the national celebrations.

Then, around 90 delegates have been intervened during the morning session, according to the Congress presidency.

“What is missing is not texts, but the quality of working methods and decisions implementation,” said Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayad, memebr of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, in his speech during morning deliberations.

He stressed on the need for the selection of a leadership, drawing attention of the delegates to two choices: one commander of the sole has absolute powers or collective leadership selected has absolute powers or selected collective leadership which held accountable collectively, not individually.”

Several other interventions focused on various points including the acceleration of finding a solution leading to the independence, non-compliance with the negotiations which yet to come up with new, the need to adhere to national unity in order to achieve the desired goal namely independence, the demand to raise the budget of health and education, working on the development of traditional industry to maintain the cultural heritage.

They also emphasized on the need to strengthen the security especially in light of the serious and sensitive current situation, to consolidate the presence of youth in various fields and support the Uprising of Independence to continue its work for achieving the raised national goals. (SPS)
