Nouakchott (Mauritania) Jan. 6, 2012 (SPS) - The Emir of Qatar, Cheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al Thani, arrived on Thursday in Nouakchott for a day's official visit at the invitation of the Mauritanian president, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.
He is accompanied by a high-powered delegation comprising government officials and several private operators in his country.
The visit of the Emir of Qatar is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Several agreements would be signed in the fields of energy, telecommunications, town planning, social affairs, vocational training and literacy education, among other things.
