SADR authorities urge international organizations to help drought victims

Bir Lehlu  (Liberated Territories), Jan 19, 2012 (SPS) - SADR authorities launched Wednesday an "urgent" appeal to the UN, EU and international environmental organizations to help the drought victims in Saharawi liberated territories, in statement reached SPS.


"the Saharawi authorities appeal urgently the United Nations, the African Union, European Union and international environmental organizations to help drought victims and prevent potential human catastrophe in liberated territories of SADR, " the statement highlighted .


Saharawi Authorities underlined that "inhabitants in  liberated territories of SADR face for over two years an unprecedented drought, the worst in many years", stressing it have a devastating impact on the territory.


"The nomads are indeed the most affected. Livestock ,wich plays an important role in their basic nutritional needs, has been severely hit by losses at high scale " the statement pointed out. (SPS)
