Dili, May 17, 2012 (SPS) - President of East Timor, José Ramos-Horta, on Wednesday awarded the Order of Merit to the Saharawi Ambassador, Mohammed Salameh Baddi, expressing his country's firm support for the struggle of the Saharawi people to freedom and independence.
The award confirms the historical bonds of friendship between the brotherly people of Timor leste and Saharawi Republic, said statement of Saharawi Embassy to Dili.
The President Horta has always expressed his firm solidarity with the struggle of the Saharawi people in the international circles, added the statement. (SPS)
