Bir Lehlu(Liberated territories), Aug 21, 2012 (SPS) - The President of Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz has sent on Tuesday a message of condolences to Ethiopian Vice Prime Minster and Foreign Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn on the death of Prime Minister, Melly Zenawi.
" It was with great sadness and sorrow that we learnt about the death of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi. On behalf of the Government and the people of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic and on my behalf, I would like to extend to you and to the brotherly people of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia our most sincere condolences and deepest sympathies at this painful time.
Prime Minister Meles Zenawi was a great visionary and statesman who worked wholeheartedly for the betterment and development of his country and Africa. His death is a great loss not only to Ethiopia, but also to Africa as a whole. He will always be remembered and honoured among the distinguished African leaders who worked tirelessly to defend the interests of our continent in the international arena and to achieve continental integration and development. His significant contributions to peace-making and peacekeeping in Africa and elsewhere are testament to his strong commitment to peace and peaceful resolution of conflicts. We would like to pay tribute to his great moral qualities and to his political courage and dedication.
