President condoles Algerian counterpart on passing away of Chadli Bendjedid

Bir Lehlou (refugee camps), Oct 6, 2012 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, has expressed condolences, on his own behalf and on behalf of Saharawi people and government, to the Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika and people of Algeria as a whole, on the passing away of former Algeria’s President Chadli Bendjedid.


“We received with deep sadness and sorrow the news of the passing away of the former Algerian President Chadli Bendjedid this Saturday, 6 October 2012. On this sad occasion, I would like to extend, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people and government of the Saharawi Republic, my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to your Excellency and through you to family of the deceased and brotherly people of Algeria,” wrote President of the Republic, in a letter to the Algerian President.


President Mohamed Abdelaziz said that with the passing away of Chadli Bendjedid, Algeria has lost one of its good men and a distinct mujahid (combatant) and military commander.


Former President of the Republic of Algeria Chadli Bendjedid passed way Saturday in Algiers at 83 years after a long illness, said a communiqué of the Algerian Presidency. (SPS)
