Boujdour (Refugee Camps), Oct 21, 2012 (SPS) - The 7th congress of the Saharawi Workers Union (UGTSARIO) opened this evening in Boujdour in the presence of President of the Republic and with a large participation of national and international delegations.
The President Mohamed Abdelaziz and Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, addressed the opening session of the congress.
A documentary on the suffering of the Saharawi workers during the Spanish colonial era was screened at the of the event.
More than 450 delegates, 30 of which from the occupied territories take part at the congress which covering by foreign press delegations from Europe and Latin America as well as Algeria, Japan and Tunisia as well as the national media.
The Congress also attended by delegations of trade unions from Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
The 7th congress, which bears the name of Martyr Said Dambar, is being held from 21 until 23 October 2012 in the Wilaya of under the motto: “resistance, liberation and development”. (SPS)
