Nouakchott (Mauritania) January 24, 2013(SPS) the Mauritanian League of Solidarity with the Saharawi People, on Tuesday, condemned the decision of   the Moroccan Authorities to bring Saharawi political prisoners known as the Group of Gdaim Izik before a military court in early February.

“It is shame to bring detainees of the Saharawi uprising for independence before a military court in the era of the Arab spring and people’s desire to freedom and emancipation” said the NGO in a press release reached SPS.

The Mauritanian League of Solidarity with the Saharawi People indicated that the Moroccan Authorities have been “arrested and tortured the 24 Saharawi political prisoners in notorious prisons and in bad conditions for more than two years without trial” ,warning about the deteriorating of their health which could lead to a “ disaster” .

the Mauritania organization called upon all “ politicians, jurists , writers and activists  of Social society around the world to carry out  their responsibilities to stand against repressive practices and  violations of human rights that committed by Morocco in the occupied territories of Western Sahara” and to refuse “ culture of military tribunals that some countries try to impose in the third Millennium.” (SPS)
