Submitted on

Buenos Aires, Feb 25, 2013 (SPS) - Argentine Workers’ Central Union (Spanish acronym; CTA) has repudiated the sentences rendered against the 24 Saharawi political prisoners, known as Gdeim Izik group, in an open violation to international law and human rights, according to a press release issued Monday.

CTA expressed hope that the Argentine government once again ratifies international leadership of our country in the defense of human rights, through the rejection of this process which is incompatible with the most basic standards of justice.

Argentine Workers’ Central Union is a trade-union federation in Argentina. It was formed in 1991 when a number of trade unions disaffiliated from the General Confederation of Labor (CGT). (SPS)
