Bulgarian Party expresses concern about unfair verdicts against group of Gdeim Izik

Sofia (Bulgaria) the Bulgarian Socialist Party Monday has expressed concern about the Moroccan Military trial and its unfair verdicts against 25 Saharawi political prisoners became known as Gdeim Izik group.
 

 “I have learned with great concern about the sentences of the Moroccan military court against the Sahrawi political prisoners of Gdeim Izik.” said foreign Affairs Secretary of the Party Kristian Vigenin, in a statement reached SPS.
 

“I find that the proceedings did not guarantee the rights of the defendants since their presumption of innocence, their right to defense and to an effective remedy, the right to a fair trial and to an independent tribunal were not respected,”
 

“I’m worried about the continued violation of human rights in Western Sahara,” he added.
 

Kristian Vigenin , welcomed and encouraged the UN efforts to find out a solution to the Western Sahara conflict ,calling on the parties to cooperate with the United Nations to” in the holding of a free, fair and democratic referendum in Western Sahara, as desired by the International Community,”
 

He finally declared that “the protection and promotion of human rights, good governance and a sustainable economic and social development are all seen as important factors for peace, security and stability of the African continent.”(SPS)
