Sovereignty of Saharawi people, legitimate demand (Mr. Mohamed Hadi)

Tifariti (liberated territory), May 20, 2013 (SPS) - President of the Algerian Parliamentary delegation and Deputy Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly Mr. Mohamed Hadi has emphasized that the consecration of Saharawi people's sovereignty over his territory is a “legitimate demand”, calling for the formation of widespread front to support the Saharawi state at the international foras.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 40th anniversary of the outbreak of armed struggle in Western Sahara on Monday, Mr. Hadi renewed Algeria’s firm position of support to the right of the Saharawi people to freedom and self-determination, adding that the participation of an Algerian parliamentary delegation is an “opportunity” to share with Saharawi MPs their celebrations, as to convey message of the Saharawi people to Arab and international parliaments.

The Algerian parliamentary delegation, said the official, has noticed, through these celebrations, a genuine will and anticipation by the Saharawi people, under leadership of the POLISARIO Front, for any option, as well as readiness to grab his right and regain his usurped land, especially since he has a lot of his sons, including the Martyr El-Ouali Mustafa Sayad, who triggered the revolution of 20 May 1973.

He went on saying that Saharawi people’s endurance to live in the refugee camps in a situation that lack the minimum conditions of human life is an “definitive evidence” for this people’s faith in his fair cause, which is that of the right to self-determination through a fair referendum under the auspices of MINURSO.

Mr. Hadi added that there is a Moroccan intransigence in the application of United Nations regulations, noting that it is “a proof to his fear (Morocco) from the inevitable result of the referendum, through the vote by this people on full independence and full sovereignty over his territory unconditionally and without a trusteeship by Moroccan.”

“The Intifada (uprising) being waged by the young Saharawis in the territories occupied by Morocco is good news in the right direction towards independence,” he indicated, calling on the Saharawi people to continue demonstrating patience and struggle in order to preserve the achievements attained by the Polisario Front over the past forty years.
