ALGIERS, Nvember 22, 2013 (SPS) - Fishing agreements signed between the representative of the European Union (EU) member states and Morocco by including the territory of Western Sahara is against peace efforts and a violation of the international law, Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR)’s Foreign Minister Salem Ould Salek said Thursday.

"The agreements signed between the representative of the European Union and Moroccan occupation are against peace. A blatant violation of international law and legality, as those agreements do not set aside Western Sahara which is under Moroccan occupation," the Saharawi official told APS in an interview.

"Western Sahara is a non-autonomous territory and it is a decolonization issue dealt with by the United Nations," Ould Salek said.

The Saharawi official wondered how "democratic nations can participate in violating the international law and plundering the natural resources of a people, namely the Western Sahara people who is under Moroccan colonization rule." (SPS)
