Agweinit (liberated territories), Jan 5, 2014 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente Polisario Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz has indicated that the Moroccan regime, which is the main source of drugs, poses the greatest threat to stability in the Sahel region.
“The Sahel countries and the neighboring countries are exposed to big threats and menaces coming from Morocco,” said the President of the Republic, during the closure ceremony of the festivities marking the 40th anniversary of the creation of Polisario Front and outbreak of armed struggle, taking place in the Saharawi liberated territory of Agweinit.
Morocco, added the President Mohamed Abdelaziz, is the world’s largest producer and exporter of drugs in the world, and the one which issues instability in the region as a whole.
“Morocco has always adopted an expansionist policy in defiance of international law,” he underlined.
The President also renewed readiness of the Polisario Front and Saharawi Republic (SADR) to cooperate constructively with UN efforts, calling once again to decolonize Western Sahara, through a self-determination referendum.
“The Sahrawi people remains determined to carry on the fight for independence despite Morocco’s several maneuvers and delays,” he confirmed, adding that torture, kidnapping, imprisonment and unfair trials “will not make us abandon our noble goal, which is independence and freedom.” (SPS)
