Sahrawi Prime Minister thanks Algeria for its support to Sahrawi cause

Boujdour (refugee camps), Feb 27, 2014 (SPS) - The Sahrawi Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar thanked Thursday Algeria for its support to the struggle of the Sahrawi people for their right to self-determination.


“We thank the Algerian State and President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika for their support to the Sahrawi cause,” said Saharawi PM, in a speech delivered on the occasion of the festivities celebrating the 38th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Republic (SADR).


On this occasion, the Sahrawi prime minister urged the international community and particularly the United Nations to “end the violations committed by the Moroccan occupier in the Sahrawi territories and to allow the self-determination and independence of the Sahrawi people.”


He also called for the extension of the MINURSO mandate to include the human rights monitoring mechanism and called on Spain to support the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination. (SPS)
