Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), March 5, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary- General of the Polisario Front Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, received today evening at the Presidency of the Republic the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Ambassador Christopher Ross.
During the meeting, the Frente Polisario reiterated its readiness to constructively cooperate with the efforts made by the UN Secretary General and his personal envoy, Mr. Ross, in order to achieve a lasting solution to the conflict ensuring the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination.
This meeting was also attended by members of the Polisario Front’s delegation to the negotiations with Morocco.
After visited Rabat, Algiers and Nouakchott, Christopher Ross arrived today’s evening, Wednesday, in the Saharawi refugee camps, as part of his new tour in the region.
This tour aims to give impetus to the settlement process currently staled, due to Morocco’s intransigence and its obstruction to the efforts being undertaken by the UN and international community to find a solution, which provides for the self-determination of the Saharawi people in accordance with the pertinent UN Security Council resolutions.
