Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), June 17, 2014 (SPS) - The Coordinator of the Spanish Parliamentary Intergroup of Friendship with Western Sahara, Joan Nuet Pujals, has called, at the end of a working visit he made along with other Spanish MPs in the Saharawi refugee camps, on the government of his country to act in favour of the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination.
In statements to SPS, Pujals called on the international community, particularly Spain, for the need to act in favour of the Saharawi people’s right to self-determination, highlighting that it is high time for the international community to take action for ending the suffering of Saharawi people.
The Spanish MP said that he and the other MPs were able to see at first hand the reality of the Saharawi people, adding that the Saharawis are committed to continue the fight in order to achieve freedom and self-determination.
He also said that the delegation seeks to keep the Saharawi cause in the heart of the interests of the Spanish public opinion.
The delegation concluded Monday evening a three-day working visit in the Saharawi refugee camps, by holding a meeting with the President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz.(SPS)
