Submitted on

Dakhla (Occupied Territories), September 30, 2014 (SPS) - Angry but peaceful protests have been recorded Monday in the occupied town of Dakhla, following the announcement of the death of Saharawi political prisoner, member of the Saharawi Association Against Torture, Hasnet El-Wali, at the local military hospital, because of medical negligence.

Peaceful demonstrations have been staged in different streets of the city to condemn the crime, which further extends the list of crimes perpetrated by the Moroccan regime against Saharawi people.

The protesters demand the opening of transparent investigations into the medical negligence that led to the death of the Saharawi activist.

At least 16 people have been injured among the demonstrators, after Moroccan occupation forces, backed by the army, used tear gas to disperse the protesters.

The town of Dakhla is still besieged by the Moroccan Army. (SPS)
