Bir Lehlou (liberated zones), Oct 16, 2014 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz deplored the recent repressive acts perpetrated on Wednesday evening against innocent people by Moroccan occupying forces in occupied El Aaiun, calling for more pressure and sanctions from the UN to stop such practices.
In a letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, President Mohamed Abdelaziz said that Moroccan forces brutally attacked a crowd of Saharawi civilians were peacefully calling for the legitimate right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, leaving several people severely injured.
On the same date (15 October 2014), added the President of the Republic, Moroccan occupying authorities brought the Saharawi political prisoner, Abdelfatah Dallal, before a new show trail, before convicting him “wrongfully and unfairly” to a year in prison.
He also regretted for the fact that such repeated practices are carried out by the illegal Moroccan occupying military power over a territory still under the direct responsibility of the United Nations.
He, in this regard, appealed to the UN to urgently intervene to stop these violations, calling on the UN to impose further pressure and necessary sanctions on Moroccan occupying state. (SPS)
