Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Dec 4, 2014 (SPS) - Saharawi Journalists and Writers’ Union (UPES) on Thursday denounced the verdict pronounced Wednesday by a Moroccan court against Mahmud Al-Haissan, Saharawi blogger and activist.
UPES described as baseless the trial against Al-Haissan, adding that the judgments pronounced by Moroccan court against him were merely of a political nature.
It called upon journalists across the globe to stand by the side of Al-Haissan, calling for more pressure on Moroccan Government to free the activist.
It also urged the UN to provide suitable conditions allowing Saharawi journalists to do their tasks, until the status of Western Sahara is determined. (SPS)
