Submitted on

Algiers, December 19, 2014 (SPS) - Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Brahim Ghali reaffirmed Thursday in Algiers his country’s commitment to continuing fight against terrorism, in accordance with its international commitments, affirming that the terrorist groups “are financed with the funds of drug trafficking of which Morocco is the first producer and exporter.”

Brahim Ghali said in a statement, in a reply to the information published by foreign press according to which there is a Sahrawi terrorist in Mali, that “SADR reiterates its commitment to fighting terrorism in accordance with its international obligations as part of the Union African’s treaties and charters.

After underlining that his country “was victim of an attack by terrorist groups in Northern Mali in October 2011,” Ghali said that these groups “are financed by the funds of drug trafficking of which Morocco is the first producer and exporter in the world, which is a threat to the region’s security and stability.”

The Sahrawi official also pointed out that “it is not the first time that the media attack us and accuse us with unfounded accusations,” underlining in this regard that the sides which are circulating “these false information are known.”

Ghali categorically refuted the existence of elements of the Polisario Front in terrorist groups, underlining that it goes against the Polisario Front’s principles. (SPS)
