Wilaya of Smara (Refugee Camps), February 7, 2015 (SPS) – The UN Secretary General Special Representative for Western Sahara, Head of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), Ms. Kim Bolduc, arrived Saturday morning in the Sahrawi refugee camps, for the first time since her appointment in May 2014.
On the occasion of her visit, a public speech platform was organized in the Wilaya of Smara during which she expressed her appreciation for the reception given to her by the Saharawi people and admiration for the experience of the Sahrawi people in various fields.
For his part, the Governor of the Wilaya of Smara, Adda Ibrahim, conveyed to the head of the MINURSO the message of the Saharawi people to accelerate the solution to the protracted conflict.
The Sahrawi official called the UN Security Council for the need to set a timetable during their next meeting in April to discuss the Sahrawi issue in order to enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination (SPS)
